creature inspired by the insects:
Dragonfly by Sunima Rainbow stag beetle by Sunima fly study by Sunima 
dragonfly, rainbow stag, and a green bottle fly.

This was made as a school project at HAKU - Hardanger Kunstskule.
Edited a bit in photoshop, but all is traditionally made with only colored pencils.

Fantastic how you managed to maintain the look of the dragonfly wings and transform them into feathers! Again, I love the tail and the horns/antennae :)

I am proud to say that you have improved a lot! I'm a big fan of dragons, and you never seem to disappoint me at all. Beautiful colors... but my only concern is regarding the blurred side. Its cool to have Photoshop edits... but try to tone down the blurring next time (apply only to sharp edges if you like). Keep it up :thumbsup: !!

I love the way you created a depth-of-field effect with your coloring, as if you've taken a macro photo of this guy.  Also, the insect-wing "feathers" are pure genius.  They look fantastic with all of those delicate patterns!
